Plan Ahead
April & May, October & November
The calmest seas, warmest waters, and best visibility for snorkeling. Shoulder seasons offer fewer crowds and lower prices.
Southeast Trade Winds (May–September)
Cooler breezes, ideal for hiking and sailing. Anse Source d'Argent is at its best with dramatic wave action against the granite.
Northwest Monsoon (December–March)
Warmer and more humid, excellent for diving on the western coast. Green turtles nest on the beaches during this period.
International Flights
Seychelles International Airport (SEZ) on Mahé receives flights from Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha, Nairobi, and major European cities via airlines like Emirates, Qatar Airways, and Air Seychelles.
Inter-Island Ferries
Cat Cocos high-speed catamarans connect Mahé to Praslin in 1 hour. From Praslin, traditional ferries reach La Digue in 15 minutes.
Charter Flights & Helicopters
Private island resorts offer helicopter transfers from Mahé. Zil Air provides scenic flights to outer islands with breathtaking aerial views.
Fresh Seafood
Red snapper, octopus, and tuna feature prominently. Try 'Poisson Grillé' — grilled fish marinated in garlic, ginger, and chili, served with saffron rice.
Creole Curry
Seychellois curries blend Indian, African, and French influences using coconut milk, turmeric, and local spices like cinnamon and vanilla.
Tropical Fruits
Breadfruit, jackfruit, starfruit, and the unique 'jamalac' — Seychelles offers exotic fruits you won't find anywhere else.
Currency & Payment
Seychellois Rupee (SCR). Euros and US dollars widely accepted at hotels and restaurants. ATMs available on Mahé and Praslin.
No Visa Required
Seychelles grants visa-free entry for up to 3 months to all nationalities. You just need a valid passport, return ticket, and proof of accommodation.
Getting Around
Rent a car on Mahé (drive on the left). On La Digue, bicycles are the primary transport. Taxis are available but negotiate rates beforehand.
